We need your place of fun times and good music to continue. If, per chance you are opting to retire, no one would be offended. You have put in your time to all of us for many decades already. Just make sure the new owners keep up the traditions we want in Mason County.
Say it's not so!!
I remember my first roller skating experience was with Johnny's son Jimmy. I was just a little skamper about 11years old and Jimmy took me by the hand and we were the last two people on the end of the famous "Urban's Crack the Whip" when force travelled down the whip Jimmy and I went flying across the floor and took out two benches, he was about 15 years old and we both laughed even though we had floor burns that went all the way through the knees of our jeans. My first dance was at Johnny's, my first drink was at Johnny's, I am now 53 years old, worked years in law enforcement and have never seen anything that equals Johnny's of custer. I remember the airplane flying overhead advertising "Johnny's of custer" there are too many fun times to list. I hope Johnny you have a close out shin-dig I will travel to it-- take care my friend-Audrey
My first roller skating (and smoking!!) experience was at Johnny's about 1960. Would go out and spend a week or so with Earl and Gladys Laude on their farm in Custer. Went to Johnny's with their son Gary Laude and some of his friends. Did a lot of "Crack the whip" and had a great time. Bill Schrader Fort Myers FL
My sympothy goes out to Johnny and VIC'S Family, Vic was a truly remakable person that could handle the kids, I know my two girls were repremanded a few times by him as they skated or danced the night away at the teen dances.Johnny's will remain a favorite place to go to for laughs and good music and skating for along time to come I'm sure!!! An Vic will surely be missed by all. Laurie Robison, Fountain
