Sister and brother in law from Lapeer were so excited to go, hope everything works out and we see a reopen sign. Sorry to hear about the loss, may this be a lesson to every business owner, you CAN'T die without a will, not if you want your business to survive after you die. Take care hope to see you reopen soon.
You cannot "will" somebody's name on a liquor license. The liquor laws are very strict and complicated. This same thing happened to me when my young husband died leaving me the bar but only his name was on the license. At that time it was a long and expensive process to get the license in my name. I hope it's easier now. When Johnny gets the license back in his name my advice is to put another person on the license with him. We are so stunned by Vic's passing and hope Johnny's opens again soon.
With a living trust too I heard, makes it stick, otherwise? Per a recent seminar by attorneys.
