In these current times, an agency asking the public for more money needs to be specific to the need. "Thinking they may need more money" is not enough information for me. I do not believe my boss would give me a raise just because I think I may want to spend more money. I am curious as to what areas they have cut to make ends meet. Many other agencies are down to the bare bones....are you?

Now they look at plan B why wasn't plan B looked it before the vote it must be easer to just take money from the people they could have looked rather then take take take these people should be replaced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just shut it down, they dont do anything for us anyways. If you ever do have to call for help it wont get there for 2 hours. Be better off if you walked to the hospital. If someone was to break into your house you would be dead fosho before they got there.

MIKE- If they had looked at "Plan B" before the vote, that would have made it "Plan A", right? Anyways, it isn't that hard to figure out. The vote was for additional funding to keep operation the way it is. Since all of you couldn't spare 70 cents, there needs to be cuts in the department. Cuts in overtime, employees, uniforms, training, and phone lines. But, what the heck. I guess having under trained employees with less phone lines available for disasters is better than paying an extra buck. And then when someone dies due to these and future cuts, you guys will be complaining that our 911 system is a joke and not operated well enough. It is always the same garbage from the same people. Complain about the roads being bad, then complain about the road taxes. Complain about the school system being garbage, then complain about school taxes. You can't always get more for less.

Just to clarify for Brandan-a dispatch center dispatches which means when you call, we dispatch the emergency services right away-how long it takes them to respond is at their discretion, not the dispatch center's. To mike-aspects of plan B were already in the works before the vote-pay freezes, no uniforms, reductions in maintainance contracts were all reduced before deciding to ask for a vote. If more info is needed, I suggest reading past and current articles on the above topic until it sinks in. Expenses to run the center(even with reductions in several areas) are exceeding the amount of money that is coming in. Its a statewide problem-but all other emrgency votes in the state passed. If anybody cares to know all the facts and be informed on the issue can call the dispatch center during business hours and talk to the Director-231-869-7911.

Brandon, I am with you all the way. Close it up, and take the fees off the phone bills. Go back to the old way of dispatching, where the people at the respective sherrifs offices did the job. And if the counties need more $$$ for this at the sherriff office level, take a few patrol cars off the road to pay for this, as there is too many duplicate and triplcate coverages as it is. State police, county, city, and village police, as well as volunter (but paid), fire and first responders. This is a cut I am willing to live with. I will take my chances with one or two less patrol cars on the road, or lakes, if I need help. We all must make sacrifices, I am willing to make them here.

Dear "a"-I don't think you realize that typically for the county, there are only 2-3 cars on the road anyway. The costs of going back to "the old way of dispatching" will far exceed the system costs we have now-the state implemeted 800 mhz radios over 5 years ago. I hesitate to label you uninformed, but I strongly suggest you look into some hard figures before coming up with more "money saving" ideas.

Too many non-emergency calls being referred to the 911 agency. Barking dogs, car-deers, poaching, loud music, the list is endless. Up to 60% of the current calls being dispatched are not emergencies at all. Get this critical issue addressed, and the costs will automatically be reduced, not affecting services at all, and not requiring many cuts, although I do agree, many of the proposed cuts seem prudent.
