I don't mean to sound sarcastic here, but what has the road commission been doing ALL this time? My goodness - you certainly have NOT been taking care of the roads around the county! We live on a dirt road - no grading - no brine to keep down the dust - no cutting back the weeds next to the road...we have deer running out all around us but we don't see them there cause they are on the road in the tall weeds. You have just now started cutting on custer road! I just have to wonder - as many of us county folk do - wonder what has the road commission is really doing all summer? You could have at least tended to some of those roads somehow by now. I feel sorry for all those that work and go to school that must continue to take all the detours in hamlin and the back way to manistee. I understand that the "big storm" may have used up much of your budget...or did it? On what roads did you use your budget on? I pray that come winter we don't get much snow - if this is any indication as to what to expect from the road commission. One question I have - Is the road commissioner elected in office? If not - too bad.
