Hmmm, wonder if the overly-aggressive tax appraisers of recent have brought this on the Anderson family at this point in time? After an astonishing 122 years of family ownership! And major financial/political contributions to the community by both the Jebavy & Anderson families for over 100 years. Very sad indeed to see this. I just hope they got some fair value for that large and important parcel. It will never be the same again if that beautiful home is moved or demolished. Another lost landmark for Ludington, kinda reminds me of the Gibbs eatery.

I was under the impression that the house was not on this particular parcel. I noticed awhile back a sign stating that land zoned for commercial was for sale there. I think it is a parcel that runs from US10 down Jebavy but doesn't include the land that the house is on.

Just in case alot of locals don't know or remember, Mr. L.G.Jebavy started out in Ludington as a poor, smart, and aggresive street vendor selling apples for pennies at the turn of the last century. He was quite poor then. But he put his head, sweat, & optimism to work in the fruit farmers business promoting the orchard crops from farmers from several counties over a long period of time. He promoted our agricultural resources so that many had jobs and prospered, and as a result, so did the county. Yes, he lived the American dream, and became a millionaire at the same time. But he never forgot his roots. He dabbled in helping finance many projects, local business owners, and charities too along the way. His like may not come along our paths again anytime soon.
