We may have to sacrifice jobs if there is politics at stake. Or is it supposed to be the other way around?
Phil, There is world of difference between possible housing Gitmo prisoners and the minimum security prisoners proposed for the Baldwin facility. This facility was closed before because of pure politics your cheap shot at Pete Hoekstra is petty and has nothing to do with the Baldwin facility.
This should be a no-brainer for the BOP. Use a recently updated facility to reestablish jobs for Michigan that can house more than required, or start a new prison 1500 miles away to create Fl. jobs where the locals are in opposition. The Fl. option doesn't even fit here, esp. when there are people in the Baldwin area that are qualified and needy. Just DO IT!
I cant believe a true American citizen has to rely on the fed state or local gov to provide a job this country is on the verge of collapse and you want the gov to provide you with a job you should be ashamed of yourself!!!!!
