Those whiners don't know how to actually hunt a deer. They only know how to stare at a pile of bait. No bait pile, me no shoot deer.
Keep up the good work DNR, you may just oust this sport altogether in the next few years with all the hoopla over bait and bull. Real Nice for the remaining few sports enthusiasts living here, instead of moving out of state.
With the weather in Oct. being so nasty I didn't get a chance to bowhunt until November. I did see deer every day I hunted and also some bucks, but for the most part they were spikes and 4-pointers. I think the tuff winter we had definitly had a lot to do with the size of the deer and the racks. On our parcel of land we found three dead deer this spring and that was without looking very hard. Hopefully this winter will be a lot easier and more fawn's and older deer will survive.
Isn't it lame that those who are misguided and not intelligent enought to understand the whole scope of the above article are the first to attack. It sure sounds like peta has few of voices even here in the comment column.
"Yippee" does not apply. If you understand the article and the statistics, the main reason for the low results is that many young deer died a slow death of starvation last winter.
Don you forgot the rest of the story, however I’m sure you know it. Because the deer starved to death, they would not be available to harvest. The obvious consequence was that the meat was wasted as well. I also found 5 dead deer this spring, in a 1/2 mile area. What a shame.
