Comments are moderated on a daily basis.“We treat everybody the same but we are doing additional work down in the project area for the safety of the public in addition to the safety of the workers. Consumers is reimbursing us for the extra work we’re doing down there.” SO...you treat everybody the same unless somebody pays you for extra work. And "extra work" is really just the "same" work the road commission should be doing every day. I love the annual story about how terrible Mason County roads are and the predictible quote from Gary Dittmer "explaining" why they suck. We had virtually no snow until WELL into January, yet Mason County is behind every other county I've driven in when it comes to clearing the road. Pathetic.
I would like Mr. Dittmer to print in the LDN the amount of the "reimbursment" from Consumers. Lattin Rd and S. Lakeshore Drive in Summit Township were covered in snow and ice when roads used by Consumers/White were salted/sanded nice and clear. Why are we using public equipment for a private company? To say everyone is being treated the same might sound good, but I don't see that being the case. Constant half-truths are getting old. I see what Oceana County does to Bus. 31 and Oceana Dr. everyday and it's in much better shape and in a much more timely manor than Mason County. Strange that this problem wasn't the case in my area until this year... Lets see the checks from Consumers for starters.
COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES THIS MORNING TRAVELING HIGHWAY 31 TO 10 TO MEIJER!!! WOW - YOU DIDN'T EVEN PLOW THE HIGHWAYS THIS MORNING! HAD TO TRAVEL 25 TO TOWN AND HOME TO FREESOIL - THEN ABOUT 40 TO WORK...WISH I LIVED SOUTH OF TOWN... SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT GETTING THE PLOWS OUT - PEOPLE STILL HAVE TO WORK AND YOU KNOW THAT!!!
