The one thing that is missing in this plan is a Municipal Marina and expansion of the boat launch facility. There is currently no Marina accessible by any boat larger than 20 feet within the village limits, in my opinion this is truly hurting Onekama. Every harbor I've visited on Lake Michigan has a Municipal Marina, yet Onekama somehow lacks this very valuable asset and is one of the best harbors on Lake Michigan. In addition to not having a village marina the boat ramps are terribly inadequate. Again, anything over 22 feet is a challenge to launch. In my opinion Onekama needs to focus on bringing in more boat traffic so people can wander about and shop, eat, Etc.
