This story is absolutely humorous in that it is so full of political pandering by Ms. Stabenow and Mr. Huizenga. The permit to continue operating just means keep burning coal. A common sense solution just means keep burning coal. The bottom line answer is votes in an election year. The real answer is to use natural gas or diesel. That costs money, which is not what the owners want to do. It is far cheaper to just make political donations at the right time.
