The permit to continue operating just means keep burning coal. A common sense solution just means keep burning coal. The bottom line answer is votes in an election year. The real answer is to use natural gas or diesel. That costs money, which is not what the owners want to do. It is far cheaper to just make political donations at the right time.
Either keep the lake clean, or stay off it! If the Badger owner doesn't want to upgrade, he should just go away. The Muskegon ferry is much better anyway.
Let's have the Badger run on batteries that are charged by the wind turbines we should have up by the end of the year, LOL. The new president to be should just have the EPA grandfather the SS Badger in, or the Badger should begin to look for coal ash dumps in MI or WI they can use.
