I can't believe that Dewey Road, in Hamlin Township, is still being ignored. That road has been torn up for years with patches that come up every spring. This road is travelled by many vehicles daily and yet the county and/or township just keeps overlooking it. After replacing many front tie-rods on my vehicles, over the past several years, I should mail the County Road Commission a bill!

I also cant believe there is nothing in the plan for Victory Corner Rd from Hansen to Fisher.... Yes they did a nice job with the new dirt and gravel (which I've had 2 rocks thrown at my windshield since) but how long will that last? I asked Mr. Dittmer about this before and his reply was something to the fact that this stretch of the road is owned by 2 townships and basically they have to come together to get this done.. They are now improving many roads that get low traffic, it just angers me because of all the heavy traffic that uses Victory Corner (Hansen to Fisher)daily and they all drive like its paved... Had a lady last year veer off the road traveling south ran up into my yard, in the area where my kids would be for the school bus, veered back across the road and hit a rather large oak tree. This I am sure was a result of some very bad chatter bumps, an on going problem... Lets save some lives, maybe some cars and yards and pave this section please, lord only knows there are several high end tax payers in this area, while some of the other areas? I just dont know dosent make sence.

Well - believe it! There are so many roads that are not improved on - because these guys are not supervized and don't want to do the work. Come on out to free soil roads east of Custer road - everyday this summer it is like a washboard! Try riding your mororcycle on That!!! Let alone your new car! Which won't drive like new for long after driving on our county roads. The ONE time they did brine our road - they started at the curve at townline road and headed south - now why would you only do half the road??? No sensse at all! They don't mow down weeds anymore! If you see it mowed, you can tell that the homeowner had mowed it-stops at the property line. Lots of deer standing on the sides so watch out and slow down! Maybe we should all quit paying our taxes?!? The next time I see the workers sitting on the side of the road talking - I think I will get out my camera phone and tape it...put it on the net. haha see how long they sit there on break. Ya! I would like to see everyone start calling the road commission and complain. I think they need a new management that holds workers responsible. There should be supervisors that drive on the roads to ensure that they were in fact graded and brined and plowed in the winter. I watched one worker on my road take 7 hours to mow two sides of a 1/2 mile stretch of road. OMGoodness!

Kay...if you noticed the roads the county is working on are not low traffic roads. They are very high traffic roads. Kay and Name, the County can’t do every single road to make people happy. We don’t have an unlimited amount of money in the county to make every person happy with the little roads they want fixed. Since the roads you speak of are so bad and you are afraid of going off the road, then SLOW DOWN. Use your head and stop complaining. Name, you should just move out of the County then if you are so unhappy about the weeds being too tall for you. It’s also going to be difficult to "tape" something on your phone. If you have seen so many terrible things by the County workers, why haven’t you recorded anything or go to a County meeting and say something. Or talk to your buddy Fiers and have him fix everything...

Talking to gary dittmore is a waste of time. He just puts the blame off on township supervisors. My road masten has not been brined for at least 10 years. Wash boarding is unbelievable bad this time of year. Does he care? not really, It seems if you don't brine it makes work for the drivers to grade the roads more often. But guess what? That isn't happening either. Lets see mild winter he saves money, Doesn't grade he saves money, Doesn't brine he saves money, Doesn't lay off workers not doing there job! hmmm maybe time for a road commissioner that works for the people of mason county is in order!
