God forbid people have a little consideration for the people around them instead of just thinking about themselves. Just because they can withstand that noise doesn't mean others can.

I believe this isn't Mrs. Nielsen's first visit on this subject, and as such, I just wonder, why didn't the City Council safety committee address this much earlier? Can you answer that Mr. Castonia? It is your job after all. Thanks.

The fireworks law should be changed. We do not need fireworks year round. I feel for all those suffering from anxiety, including myself. My dog also is affected, she doesn't want to go out of the house when the Big Booms are going on, and she used to love to walk! She barks when she hears the noise, and that makes me more anxiety ridden. Please do something to help those of us who do not appreciate the year long celebration of 1 Holiday!

I have lived in my neighborhood many years, and have had my dog all those years, and never, have I had a single complaint about my dog barking. When she barks, I control her, however you miss the point?.....maybe intentionally, maybe not. The point is we all have a right to peace and quiet! Some of us have to work, and early, how can you sleep when it sounds like bombs are going off outside, and you don't know when, or how long? Please , just asking for people to be considerate of others.

I'm in agreement there needs to be some regulation. The noise bothers my dog greatly as well...he doesn't bark...he's just scared of the constant loud noise. As for me, I just get tired of those who apparently can't read a calendar...just because you have holiday fireworks available year round, doesn't necessarily mean you need to use them year round. How about using them to celebrate the holidays instead of trying to see how many people in the neighborhood you can *&%^ off!

PUH-LEEZE! This is just another example of City Police incompetence !.....how hard could it possibly be to find out just who is shooting off fireworks 3-4 nights per week IN TOWN...?

Jim on September 04, 2012 at 7:30 AM

Most people don't say anything about barking dogs and just accept the barking. I have complained before about barking dogs only to lose a friend. So why is it that because someone has a dog that barks on a daily basis consideration for others goes out the window but a few fireworks go off and now is the time for it.

Do NOT blame the Police? Man up and report it if YOU know who it is. They light them and then take off!! This town is full of people that blame the Police then don't do any thing to help them? Why? This is a small town and everyone know's everyone. It's not rocket science!! Start a Neighborhood watch. Call Sargent Maltbie.
