I have one complaint about the Halloween Festivities downtown. TRAFFIC. When doing these type of activities where the downtown has as many people as it had for the parade and downtown trick-or-treating, why aren't the main 5 blocks of town blocked off from the traffic. I seen at least 5 people (including children) that traffic had to slow down for, if not stop while they crossed the street. Those kids are so excited that they don't pay attention! It would not be that much of inconvenience to go around the downtown with the 100's of people that were on the streets. Or do we wait until someone gets hurt. Just a suggestion from a concerned parent.

How about parents hold on to their childs hand when they are crossing the road? Do we close all the roads on Wednesday while kids are trick or treating? There are crosswalks downtown and parents should be smart enough to use them with their children. Its not up to the city to close down the Avenue for trick or treating when it involes kids walking down the sidewalk store to store. Like I said, if the parents and kids wanted to go to the other side of the Avenue, then use the crosswalks.
