There was only 1 or 2 persons since July 4th in the entire town that complained about fireworks abuse, and that only occurred once or twice since. So this warrants a new ordinance for Ludington again? Like the cat ordinance? Meanwhile, other complaints about excessive costs to paint water towers too early, DDA signage contracts given with no fair bidding, excessive council members pay, and many other ditties are ignored? Yuuuup!
Actually Eddie, I believe there were a lot of complaints with the fireworks. Just because the LDN post a story about two people complaining, doesnt mean they were the only ones. Also, when you are going to make statements such as excessive counsil member pay, you should explain what their "excessive pay" is.
EDDIE, I think there was more than 1 or 2 complaints from just my block alone. Get your head out of your posterior.
SDC, EJT: There was only one complainant that said anything formally to the City Council, and she did so twice. Every year, complaints about fireworks happen to the local police, this is the first time the City Council figured they needed to change the law. Banning fireworks as early as ten o'clock is stupid and an abuse of power, it isn't even fully dark then during July.
Dolores, banned at 10pm every day, EXCEPT on the day before, day of and day after a national holiday. I don’t want to be in bed trying to sleep or have my children trying to sleep on a Tuesday night and have fireworks going off at midnight on July 10th. You also think that there was only ONE person calling the city or police department complaining about the fireworks?? I will come sit outside your house on a Tuesday night at 1 am and start shooting off fireworks Dolores, and then maybe you would see why people would be upset.
