When the school board makes it's new decision, how about considering the loyalty and residential seniority of the individual. When you have no roots to Mason County/Ludington, the chances of jumping to another greener pasture like De Kuiper did for more money in the job, are not a sign of what our school system needs for prosperity and longevity in this important job.

Loyalty? Residential seniority? What is this, the good old boy system? You're joking, right Eddie? It's not like he was here and suddenly gone. DeKuiper served LAS for over a dozen years, the last 6+ as superintendent, those are well above average numbers for longevity for school administrators in this state. You're going to fault a guy that has to put kids through college, in this economy, for taking a higher paying job? DeKuiper was very loyal to LAS, and he earned the right to get rewarded with a higher salary. I think Eddie's feelings are hurt that someone would actually choose to live and work elsewhere than Ludington! Here's hoping the LAS board picks the best candidate to do the job, not based on how long he or she has lived in the area and who his/her local relations are.
