Thank you Ludington Daily News for having an online edition accessible to everyone...and thank you for doing such a wonderful job keeping us up to date on the plane crash...I live in the Alma area and know all 5 of the victims in one way or another...and you by far having updated the best..Thank You Thank You.
I must echo the thank you's from the other two. Those of us in the school community as well as all the surrounding cities and towns appreciate your coverage of what is a devastating experience for all of us. Each of the people involved had such an impact on so many in Gratiot County. Jerry and Carol Freed likewise. Best wishes to all the families and friends grieving at this time
On 9 and 10 news the pilot reported the Helicopter flew over the him several times without seeing him. Then he was able to call on a radio or cell phone for help while in the water . I was wondering why they could not see him. Fog? ,bad weather , High waves, or what. Editor's note: We had reporters very near the pilot when he was rescued, conditions were fine, 1-2' chop on Lake Michigan, no fog. We did not hear him radio for help, and cell phone reception is very poor in the area, especially at the surface of the lake, so that seems unlikely. We also have not heard those reports.
Our hearts go out to you(Alma residents and friends) and your community.
