LANSING, Mich. — A new survey released Tuesday by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s office shows that a majority of Michigan residents believe the state’s roads have improved in the past five years but want lawmakers to act quickly on a bipartisan plan to fund long-term repairs.

MEARS – On Sunday, a 59-year-old man believed to have shot an acquaintance in the leg was fatally wounded by law enforcement during an officer-involved shooting following an extended manhunt in the Mears area of Oceana County, authorities said.
